Our Journey to Moriah

It has been quite a journey and the adventure is about to begin. We began this journey in Feb 06 when the Lord placed upon our hearts the name Moriah from Gen 22: 14 "The Lord will provide; as it is said to this day, "On the mount of the Lord it shall be provided." And indeed our God has supplied more than we could ever think or imagine.

The purpose of this blog is to chronicle our journey to Moriah Mei Leong and share it with you, our family and friends. As we have come to discover throughout this process that this has been more a journey of faith and dependence in our Lord Jesus Christ than anything else. We have been reminded throughout this journey that we too were once orphans. Moriah, Andy, Amy, Kimberly, Caleb and Josiah all have this in common, that we were once foreigners and aliens, strangers to the promises of God. But it is written, "I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you." Thanks be to God that we now love Him because He first loved us! Well, it has been a long road filled with seemingly endless trips to base legal, Fed Ex, and our adoption agency (CCAI) but now finally on 3 Sep that often long and winding road heads to China! So, our hope is that you will join us as we embark on our journey to the little girl the Lord has called to be ours...

Moriah is beautiful and we're so happy to hear this part of the journey is almost done. We think Kimberly will be most happy to have a younger sister and know that she'll be to Moriah a wonderful big sister.
How exciting that you'll get to spend some time in China.
Just FYI, our Charles spent a lot of time sleeping as he transitioned from the Philippines to being a part of our family/home. The sleepiness seemed to start immediately for him (falling asleep in our arms in taxis, the airplane, etc.). We let him rest, even if it seemed long to us. Hoping that would help with his ability to adjust to such big changes in his life.
You'll do great with your eyes fixed on Jesus no matter what comes your way!
Praying for you...Richard & Megan Ong
PS. We have a family from church going to China to adopt their daughter either early Sept. or early Oct. These are exciting days!!!!

Dear Amy and Andy,
Moriah is so precious! I am so thankful in my heart that your family is now complete. I think of you all very often, and shamefully at that, because I am so terrible about keeping in touch. How time flies away from us when we are apart from our friends. I am so happy for you all and for Moriah too, I can not stop crying,,,,but you know I am an oversensitive sop! Congrats to you all and give Kimberly, Caleb, and Josiah but hugs from us all!
XOXOXOXO

Andy and Amy,

My goodness...is Moriah not just the most darling thing? Her picture is precious! We are so excited to hear that the day you will meet your sweet girl is finally here.

The Strongs will continue to lift you up in prayer. We ask God for your safe travels and smooth transitions. Can't wait to hear more news! Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

Love,
David, Kristen, James, Ethan and Faith

PS FYI...Faith was exactly that size at that age, and she was in 6/9 month clothing as well as some 12 month clothing.
